Punta Gorda (P.G.), is the main town of the Toledo District in southern Belize.
Bordering the Caribbean Sea, PG is a seaport and fishing town.
It was a small fishing village before it was settled by a number of Garifuna emigrants from Honduras in 1823.
It’s a gateway to the Port Honduras Marine Reserve, lying offshore, and Guatemala.
