San Ignacio is one of the twin towns. The other is Santa Elena.
The Macal River separating the two and connected by 3 bridges, one of which is the historic Hawksworth Bridge.
To get to these towns you head north on the Southern Highway, to the Hummingbird Highway, then west on the George Price Highway.
These two towns are the heart and soul of the Cayo District.
